Close up view of out building construction from lime, stone and cob, an ancient building material made from local clay and straw, and sometimes included local plant materials ranging from heather to hay or similar long grasses. The roof would originally have been thatched straw.

A sliding door retained as a feature to the property adjacent to Clifton House. Thirza's husband Willian Slee was a Carter by profession, the sliding door most likely was the entrance to stables where he would have kept his horse(s) and cart.
